We’ll be seeing a lot more of these in the near future as I finally after all these years try to get inside these famous drum grooves of Blackwell’s.

When I saw your writing of the phrase in two separate lines I got the idea to go through Syncopation (Reed), playing two lines at the same time; one line per hand.
Really hard, but it sounds very Blackwell-like.
(Of course I use timpany mallets)
