Popular item recently, a bunch of students at various levels are digging this. With the previous thing we were adding the paradiddles to some basic rock beats, here we’re stripping it down further, fitting them in strictly around the backbeats. You can add your own bass drum parts. We’ll do something similar with 32nd notes soon.
Get a pattern together with just the hands, pencil whatever bass drum part you want. Start with a couple of notes, and add more as you work with it. Dynamics can vary; mainly, make sure we’re hearing the backbeats, and keep the left mostly-soft otherwise— especially the doubles.
