Rewriting something from 2012, that is really unreadable: the first page of Stick Control in triplets, in two voices. I was really unkind in the early years of this site, really jamming a lot of crap on the page. I’ve written it for cymbal and snare drum because that’s the way I’m going to use it. I think there’s no great reason to do it on pad.
Add bass drum with some or all of the cymbal notes— with multiples, add it on the first note, last note, or first and last notes. Or something else. Hihat on beats 2-4, or all four beats.
You could be working within basically a moderate tempo jazz feel, or an Afro 6 feel, maybe even a shuffle or other R&B triplet feel— in that case I’d be looking to accent any 2 or 4 falling on the SD, and adding the BD around beats 1-3, or the end of the triplet.
