Daily best music in the world: RIP James Blood Ulmer

Guitarist James Blood Ulmer has passed away at I think age 82. The high point of his career in the US was in the 1980s, parallel to Ornette Coleman’s Prime Time and Ronald Shannon Jackson’s Decoding Society— they’re all working in a similar vein, with some shared players. I think he has been active touring in Europe since then. This is a very exciting album I was listening to around 1990, with Calvin Weston on drums:
