Variations on a songo rhythm, hands only. The usual groove is kind of a set thing, that can be a hard thing to break away from, so this page forces the issue, opening it up a bit.

See my 2013 page o’ coordination for some bass drum variations, which you can use with this. I recommend working this style up together with the Mozambique— they work well together, you can easily switch from one to the other in the course of a tune. You’ll know when you’re in a setting where you can do that. And see my other songo pages for more, and for some background.
