CYMBALISTIC: Four budget cymbals

UPDATE: All right, John Candy has sold to one lucky guy. The special is going until the end of the month— or until some saavy individuals snap them all up— so get on the friends list, like now, baby, and I’ll get you the video of these fine cymbals, along with the prices.

CYMBALISTIC: This is your shot, people— I’m holding four great Cymbal & Gong cymbals, three of them used, one a special case, and business has been slow lately, and I want to reward people who have gotten on our friends-of-the-site list, so I’m offering them to you at blow out prices. It’s a perfect storm of you getting a great deal on a cymbal you can use forever.

It’s a limited time offer— month of March only, only for friends o’ the site. For prices and video of the cymbals, get on THE LIST, or reach me through WhatsApp. The email is going out today.

I’ve got:

22″ Survival Ride “Animal Mother” – 2477g
The factory made a mistake on some Revival series cymbals, which gave us these “Survival” cymbals— they’re actually good, they’re just not to normal Revival series specs. This one gives the impression of being a real beast, and it is, but it’s really only about 10% rougher than my usual 22″ A-type Holy Grail. It’s really a beautifully balanced normal 22, with a hard dark edge, with enough highs to cut through.

I also have some 15″ hihats in this same style, that are also really good— I can offer a discount for anyone who wants to get them both.

SOLD – 24″ Holy Grail hammered bell ride “John Candy” – 2732g
Not a size I normally deal with— a 24″ generally is a big floppy cymbal to me, but every Cymbal & Gong 24 I’ve played has been great. This one has extra hammering on the bell, which had the effect of opening the cymbal up— all of these had a more crash-like response than the regular cymbals. That’s a quality I don’t want too much of in a ride, but this one is controllable, it’s just a big, full, warm jazz cymbal.

22″ Oaktown ride “Dick Berk” – 2284g
This is an old custom line made for a store in Oakland, California. The look is somewhat like the Agop Signature series, and it plays like a rather rougher version of a Turkish-type Holy Grail. It’s a great main jazz cymbal, with good definition, and I’ll name it for a great drummer who lived in Portland for many years— he had a 22″ K. that he really used to slam, and this gives me rather that impression, a controllable basher.

22″ Holy Grail – A-type ride “Decker” – 2384g
This is just a lovely solid light-medium 22, the cymbal you use for everything. It’s a major upgrade from any major brand 22— whenever I accidentally have to play one of those now they just sound like terribly crude instruments.

So: I could easily use any of these every day and be completely happy— any one of them is worth getting to know, and using forever, for twice what I’ll be charging for them. Check your email if you’re already on the mailing list.

I am happy to help you with any of the materials on the site, and with anything else drumming related— contact me for private lessons, online world wide, or in person in Portland, Oregon. All levels of players, and all people, are welcome.
