Ultimate double paradiddle builder – 01

Happy 2026 everyone— continuing this “ultimate builder” series, with double paradiddles. It looks like a lot of stuff, but these are all things you have to have together to do the actual rudiment. You’ll learn them faster and better doing it this way.

This covers standard double paradiddles, and the thing I’m calling the “Bishop” inversion, since nobody else seems to have claimed it; and a combination right hand-heavy version, similar to something else we did recently; and inversions with the doubles on the first and middle partials. None of those variations are terribly common/traditional, but what do you care? We’re doing this for playing fluency, and they’ll be worthwhile for that.

Play each thing individually, of course— also do repeating combinations within each section:

AB, AC, AD, etc.
BC, BD, BE, etc.
CD, CE, CF, etc.

As much as is necessary. You’ll develop your own path through them with a time economy that makes sense.
