Jazz patterns for massive repetition

For a younger student of mine. Right now he has a notebook of stuff like the baghad vita, sometimes you need to pare it down for them. This is a small collection of jazz patterns for purely calisthenic repetition, so they can happen on impulse. He’s already good at the playing by impulse part, otherwise we’d be talking about how to do that. It’s not meant to be a complete course in jazz comping, it’s just some things that he can stand to add right now.

Play each thing for 1-3 minutes at one tempo. Tempos can range from quarter note = 60-200 bpm. I’m recommending he get extremely comfortable at 120, and be working on 130-145.
