Jazz loops embedded – slow tempos

Some good slower tempo jazz practice loops. All maintain a pretty consistent triplet feel, no one’s double timing his cymbal beat. Forms on most of these are 12 bar blues, except Stella By Starlight is a 32 bar tune, sort of an A (16) B (8) A1 (8). Some of them lean into shuffle feel, which you can do, I use them for my straight jazz materials.

Kenny Burrell – Mule – 62 bpm

John Coltrane – Blues To Elvin – 72 bpm

Milt Jackson – Stella By Starlight – 78 bpm

Kenny Burrell – Saturday Night Blues – 92 bpm

John Coltrane – Mr. Syms – 98 bpm

Oliver Nelson – J&B – 108 bpm
