This is a sticking variation on the 16th note RLLR-LRRL paradiddle inversion system, that was improvised by mistake by one of my students, age 15. We have a different relationship to mistakes on this instrument.
Here we change how we interpret a note sounding on an & alone, where nothing is sounding on the downbeat. On those beats, you’ll put the double on the beat, for a sticking of RRLR or LLRL. Over two beats, we’ll see a lot of patterns of RLLR-LLRL (starting on beats 1/3) and LRRL-RRLR (starting on beats 2/4)— see the key, figure it out, do your best:

There may be some spots where you play several beats in a row in the RRLR-LLRL inversion. Or where it’s not totally clear what to do. Roll with it.
As we get deeper into these tweaks and variations, there may be more than one way to interpret some passages, and they get harder to process on the fly. You may do better sticking to shorter repeated phrases, rather than the full page exercises. Give yourself some latitude for playing the system inconsistently when doing the full pages.
