Six stroke roll exploiter

Another very dense page of stuff based on the Ultimate Paradiddle Builder page, and companion to my paradiddle-diddle exploiter page. I’m getting very grandiose in how I name crap. It’s fun, try it sometime. Between this and the various recent burnout pages, we’ve got a big unit of stuff.

As you can see, we’re just adding bass drum to the patterns on the UPB page. I’ll automatically do some of this when doing those patterns on the drums, but having it written out will encourage me to some things I might not have. My posts are getting very dense so I’ll talk about how to deal with that in another post.

A number of possibilities for drilling this, aside from just repeating the individual patterns— you can alternate 1-4 measures of the numbered pattern with each of the alphabet patterns after it, or alternated them with pattern 1.

Move your hands around the drums, and put the accents on a cymbal, plus bass drum— where it’s feasible for the tempo you’re playing. Usually I don’t want more than two bass drum notes in a row in that case. The 6/8 patterns can also be played as 8th note triplets in 4/4, or played as the written values in 3/4 time— which you can lay over 4/4 time.
